We are life coaches who have worked creatively in various capacities within theatre, television, film and music industries. We are passionate about empowering individuals to find their creative voice & unleash their full potential. 

Our Ethos…
We believe that in an industry as challenging, competitive and rewarding as the arts, artists need to act as small business owners and entrepreneurs with themselves as the key product. To be a successful business you must establish a ‘brand’, to clarify what you do, what you offer, and what your mission, vision and purpose is. When you, as an artist, have clarity on what your ‘brand’ is, your passion shines through, and it is much easier for those buying your product to trust and be inspired by it. ​

In Creative Focus Coaching is run by Cydney Uffindell-Phillips and Mark Bixter who met whilst training as coaches with the Ministry of Entrepreneurship.  They both have a background in the arts, Cydney as a performer, director, and choreographer and Mark as an actor and producer.
They set up In Creative Focus after working one to one with a number of clients within the creative industries, from actors and directors to singers and theatre makers. They soon realised how much value coaching could add to this sector and In Creative Focus was born.  
Mark and Cydney continue to work one to one with clients.  Cydney has embedded a coaching approach into her work as director and choreographer and has seen the positive results. More recently they have been working with the Artistes Collective delivering group workshops for actors to lead more rewarding careers.

Mark Bixter

Mark spent 10 years as an actor and producer before setting up his life coach practice. He specialises in working with clients from the creative sector and has worked with directors, actors, musicians and singers. Mark was formerly the managing director at Spark Inside, a charity that runs life coaching programmes in prisons. He is keen to take coaching into new areas and has coached young people and refugees and is a lead trainer for the Ministry of Entrepreneurship (MOE).

Cydney Uffindell-Phillips

Cydney became a life coach to gain insights into coaching techniques in order to incorporate them into her creative practice.  She is passionate about empowering creativity and creating positive working environments.

Cydney is a Choreographer and Director. In her career she has also worked as a performer, assistant producer and crowd 3rd AD. She has set up an online network for professionals in the creative industries called dokimi - the word of mouth network. Dokimi provides a platform for professionals to recommend one another & promotes a supportive and positive approach to working in the creative industry.
